The Bank enters every announcement it makes about itself into this archive, in the words in which it was made. Nothing here is a summary and nothing here has been revised.

Each release carries the statement as issued, followed by the complete statement, and the Chairman's reading of it. Releases are numbered and permanent. The Bank's standing observations on the market and on the Federal Reserve are not releases and are not archived here.

Every entry states the figures that stood at the moment it was issued. The Bank does not update a release to agree with a later price, and the reader should not read one as current. Where a figure has moved, both figures are correct on their own dates. Where the Bank has corrected itself, the correction is carried above the text and the text stands as issued.
